The leader of the Catholic Church in South Sudan called on believers to take advantage of the Easter celebrations to rise up from death and other difficulties affecting life the country.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba delivered this morning his Easter message through the media outlets.
He reminded people that Easter Sudan is a very great day, the greatest feast of the Christian people, even bigger than Christmas.
Archbishop Lukudu said Easter is celebrated every Sunday when Christians come together to listen to the Word of God, to take part in the Eucharist and give thanks for all graces.
He advised the faithful to use Sunday Mass to renew their Christian life.
Archbishop Lukudu decried the clashes taking place at the borders between South Sudan and Sudan and in Jonglei State.
He lamented the killings, troubles and difficulties across South Sudan including the clashes that led to the shut down of the University of Juba.
Archbishop Lukudu said people have been difficult, offending one another and God.
He said Easter is the time and the chance to rise up from death and from problems.
The Archbishop of Juba said the troubles in South Sudan are its own Lent.
He added that people should look at the reasons behind the problems affecting the country and respect the truth about them.
Archbishop Lukudu said politics should not bless what is wrong.
He urged Christians to come out of the bad situations and rise from their death as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
