Sudanese planes continue bombing areas in Northern Unity State, damaging an oil well.
Army spokesperson Colonel Phillip Aguer Panyang told CRN over the phone that although ground attacks stopped, the Sudanese air force continues bombing the northern part of Unity State.He said the oil fields are being targeted by the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and one oil well was slightly damaged by the air raids.
Colonel Aguer said Khartoum has been bombing South Sudan’s territory for almost two years.
He said the aggressions against South Sudan were started by radicals among the Muslim Brothers.
He added that South Sudan is keeping its defensive positions.
Coloner Aguer dismissed claims by the South Sudan Liberation Army that it was fighting and defeating the SPLA in Pariang County of Unity State.
He added that the rebels took part inthe SAF assault to Tashwin and Panakwoc last Sunday and were defeated.
