Members of the National Legislative Assembly in today’s sitting passed the National Election Bill and the supplementary budgets for the April, May and June.

The head of Economy, Development and Finance committee professor Paul Logale Jumi told MPs that today’s sitting was a historic moment for the House because MPs started deliberating on the first budget of the republic.

He said the committee presented the budget to the house for deliberations.

Mr Logale called the budget the financial mirror of the society for economic, political and social choices.

He asked the House to deliberate on the budget and pass it to the third and final reading.

MP Dentiel Kuur presented the National Election Bill for the third reading.

MPs passed the elections bill unanimously after some deliberations.
