A Yei River County inter-secondary schools tournament kicked off yesterday at Yei Freedom Square with St Joseph’s students playing St Paul’s.
County sports supervisor Kujo Bernard told Radio Easter that the tournament aimed to bring unity among the secondary schools and allow students to develop their sports talents and physical fitness alongside with heir studies.He urged parents to encourage children to practice sports because they are part of the school activities.
Mr Kujo said the eight secondary schools of Yei River County participate in the tournament that ends on March 25.
He warned students not to use the tournament as an occasion to meet their love partners but to concentrate on the sports activities.
Over 700 hundreds students and officials from Yei River County took part in the opening ceremony.
