CARITAS MEETS TO IMPROVE OPERATIONS IN SOUTH SUDAN

A Catholic charity started a three-day meeting in Juba to find new ways to improve its humanitarian services to the people of South Sudan.

Caritas coordinator in South Sudan Ilse Simma told Bakhita Radio that the Caritas Federation Network yearly assembly aims at improving the provision of services to the people of South Sudan.

She said the meeting is the first of its kind organized by Caritas South Sudan, formerly known as Sudan Aid, with representatives from all diocesan offices taking part.

Ms Simma said she was optimistic about the future of Caritas and its performance to assist the people of south Sudan.

She added that the national offices and the international partners are focusing on new ways to assist the poor, the weak and the deprived in South Sudan.

Ms Simma explained that it is time to build a better South Sudan and to renew the commitment of Caritas with the assistance of international partners.

The meeting drew more than 60 participants from across the country, Sudan and international partners.
