At least seven people were killed yesterday at Jopa, near Juba, in violent clashes between the land owners and settlers.
Blaise Tombe told CRN that yesterday he went to Jopa, a village six kilometres west of Juba, to his aunty who died on Sunday. He said when he reached the house he was shocked to find two daughters of the deceased and two children killed with shots on the head.
Mr Tombe said one woman was pregnant.
Mr Tombe said the bodies were still lying in the mortuary in Juba Teaching Hospital waiting for an authorization letter for burial.
He added that he was told that two men were arrested but he had no information on who they were.
Mr Tombe said another three adults from Jopa were gunned down by armed settlers coming from Juba.
He said three days ago there was some fighting at Komeru village over a land dispute but it was resolved by a recue team sent by the government.
Mr Tombe wondered why the authorities took over two hours to respond to the attack in Jopa.
He warned the government that in a situation of ethnic tension like the one in Jopa was not wise to send soldiers from one of the warring groups.
