Lakes State Government has warned that it will sue corrupt tax officers and institutions that do not pay taxes unless they comply with the stipulated laws of revenue collection.

State Minister for Finance Pur Chiengan Dekbai told Good News Radio that his Ministry is in the process of hiring lawyers to sue tax collectors who divert tax income into their pockets and some institutions and businessmen who dodge taxes.

He said he directed tax collectors to use tax forms when collecting taxes because the Government fully depend on tax revenue to run due to the oil production shutdown.

Minister Chiengan said he met in Juba some Ethiopian business people who want to invest in agriculture and power generation in Lakes State.

He revealed that Ethiopian investors inspected the power station in Rumbek and soon they will develop a Private Public Partnership with the State Government for an effective running of the system.

The Minister of finance said he received in Juba a consignment of 100 hospital beds for Lakes State donated by Government of Germany.
