The Justice and Peace Commission in the Catholic Diocese of Wau yesterday conducted the first inter-Churches youth conference about their rights and how to teach fellow youths on the importance of peace in the society.

The theme of the conference was taken from Pope Benedict’s message on peace which says “educating young people in justice and peace”, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

Diocesan Justice and Peace coordinator Natalina Andrea Mambu said during her opening remarks that the youth of Bahr El Ghazal should cultivate the habit to do advocacy for their rights.

She added that the youth should speak boldly without fear against anything that interferes with their rights.

Ms Mambu explained that the conference would try to bridge the gap between the youth and elders.

She added that the elders admitted to have problems with young people.

Wau Diocese tomorrow today conducted an ecumenical prayer at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
