A thirteen-year old girl died yesterday in Asole Boma of Lasu Payam, Central Equatoria, during an abortion attempt.
Second Lieutenant of Police Morris Khemis told Radio Easter that the incident happened at 4:00 PM after the girl took an overdose of an unidentified medicine to provoke the abortion.The Catholic Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei yesterday strongly condemned abortion in his homily during the New Year’s mass at Christ the King Cathedarl.
He said abortion is unacceptable by the law and by God and appealed to the young girls to desist from the act.
