The US Government has praised South Sudan’s commitment to transparency and accountability especially regarding the oil industry.
US Ambassador to South Sudan Susan Page told the press this morning in Juba that the engagement conference that took place last week in Washington DC was an opportunity to expose the potentials of South Sudan to the global business community.She said by joining the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, the Government of South Sudan is paving the way to use the revenue from oil for the benefit of the nation.
Ambassador Page commended the Government’s commitment to accountability and good governance.
She explained that the US wants to hold everybody, including donors, accountable to ensure the development of South Sudan.
The International Engagement Conference for South Sudan took place last week in Washington D.C to introduce South Sudan to the other nations of the world.
