The government of Central Equatoria has asked cattle herders from Tali Payam to compensate Kuda farmers for a recent crop distraction.

Joseph Modi Appolo, technical advisor of the Farmers Union in Central Equatoria, told Bakhita Radio today that he visited the destroyed farms last Saturday in Nyangwara area of Rokon payam.

Joseph Modi said out of 129 fedans of land, 32 fedans of crops were destroyed by cattle belonging to Mundari herders from Tali Post.

He said the Union witnessed the damage and the ministry made an assessment to be submitted to the government for the necessary steps to remove the cattle camps from the area.

Mr Modi added that the recommendation should include compensation for the destroyed crops based on the technical report plus a fine for the destruction.

The perpetrators rejected an assessment made by the Police saying they could not afford such high fine.
