The Central Equatoria State secretariats for conflict mitigation and stabilization initiative conducted a one-day conference in Yei to spread their plans of action at grassroots.
The state coordinator for conflict mitigation and stabilization initiative, Khamis Ben, told Radio Easter that that purpose of the conference was to introduce the plan for conflict mitigation to the local communities. He said there are many kinds of conflicts from border and land disputes to unemployment and people have to learn how to solve them.
The acting commissioner for Yei River County Cosmas Lokiko said conflicts need to be resolved immediately in order for people to prosper and develop.
Fr. Simon Khamis had the same opinion: the community has to recognize and address rising issues immediately for the common good.
