A great crowd gathered this morning at Wau Airport to welcome the Archbishop of Khartoum and other participants at the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference that is due to start tomorrow evening.
State Governor Rizik Zachariah welcomed the delegation at Wau Airport.
Addressing the press, Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir said that the presence of the Bishops’s plenary session in the diocese of Wau is an historical event after the independence and called for God’s blessings.
He added that the bishop’s presence should be an encouragement to the faithful that they may participate through prayers and thanksgiving in the plenary assembly that lasts for ten days.
Governor Rizik acknowledged the Conference’s initiative in the state and assured his government’s cooperation for the success of the plenary sessions.
Bishops Macram Max of El- Obeid, Edward Hiboro of Yambio, Santo Loku, Auxiliary of Juba, were among the arriving delegation.
