The deputy chairperson of the South Sudan AIDS Commission said HIV prevalence has increased to more than seven percent.
Achol Ayom said the prevalence of civilians is three point one while the military service accounts for four point four percent.She added that these figures do not represent the entire country and another survey will be carried out soon.
Dr. Achol said that South Sudan has had an influx of foreigners who come in with different diseases. She noted that the later has led to the increase of the prevalence of HIV.
She said HIV AIDS is preventable and called upon parents and mothers to talk to teenagers about the disease.
