Lakes State council of ministers welcomed the decision taken by the national government to move the capital of South Sudan to Ramciel.
The Lakes State executive held an extraordinary meeting yesterday chaired by Governor Chol Tong Mayay, Good News Radio reported.In the end, the government spokesman Marik Nanga told the press that the council expressed gratitude for the National Government’s wise and courageous decision to relocate the capital to Lakes State.
He reiterated that the State Government and hosting communities would respect the commitment to the national status of Ramciel.
Mr. Nanga said Lakes State cabinet showed appreciation to President Salva Kiir Mayardit for forming a ministerial committee to do the necessary preparations for the building Ramciel Union.
He added the State Government will support and cooperation with the committee.
The capital of South Sudan should relocate from Juba to Ramciel within five years.
Juba will remain the commercial capital.
