The 2010 anti-corruption annual report shows that only 26 percent of the government officials in South Sudan declared their incomes, assets and liabilities.

Pauline Riak, who chairs the South Sudan Anti-Corruption Commission, told the members of parliament that only three out of 170 members of Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly declared their assets.

Dr. Riak also revealed that only one out of 32 ministers from the previous cabinet completed and filed the form about personal wealth.

She added that the documents are confidential and all officials holding constitutional posts received the form.

The Anti-Corruption Commission annual report says that only 500 constitutional post holders and senior civil servants out of 2,400 complied with the legal requirement to declare incomes, assets and liabilities.

It added that the ministry of finance failed to pay the commission 7.2 million pounds approved by the House to establish anti-corruption offices in the ten states.
