The South Sudan Anti-Corruption Commission has tabled today its Annual Report 2010 at the National Assembly.
Pauline Riak, who chairs the commission, said the report shows that at least 66 corruption allegations were received.She added that two bank managers were detained in Juba over abuse of public property and one former MP was forced to return public assets.
The report says the collection of non-oil revenues increased from 47 to 112 percent after the commission’s intervention.
More than 12 million Pounds was recovered while at least 112 million were prevented from being stolen through illegal government projects.
The report indicates that most of the cases investigated and closed came from within the ministries.
Investigated and closed cases amount to 12 million pounds while cases referred to other agencies amount to six million.
