The South Sudan Mobile Telecommunication Network Company, MTN, has concluded its 2026 “21 Days of Y’ello Care” campaign after delivering a series of healthcare interventions aimed at improving maternal and child health services at Juba Teaching Hospital.

MTN officially handed over the completed projects on Monday, marking the end of the 21-day employee volunteer initiative conducted under the theme, “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community.”

Implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Juba Teaching Hospital, and other healthcare stakeholders, the campaign focused on addressing critical gaps in healthcare infrastructure and service delivery.

Key achievements included the solarization of the hospital’s antenatal care unit to ensure reliable electricity for newborn care services, including incubators for premature babies, and the repair of the hospital’s CT scan machine to improve access to diagnostic services.

MTN also donated essential medical equipment, introduced digital health awareness solutions targeting maternal and child health, and handed over eight toll-free lines and four desk phones to strengthen emergency communication and patient referral coordination.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, MTN South Sudan Chief Executive Officer, Mapula Bodibe, said the campaign demonstrated the impact of collaboration in addressing healthcare challenges.

“Through these interventions, we are proud to contribute to strengthening healthcare systems, improving access to essential services, and supporting healthier communities across South Sudan.”

Bodibe noted that the initiative highlighted what could be achieved when employees, government institutions, healthcare providers, and communities work together toward a common goal.

The Director General of Juba Teaching Hospital, Dr. Anthony Lupai, welcomed the support, describing it as a significant contribution to improving healthcare services.

“Healthcare improvement requires collaboration and commitment from all stakeholders. The support provided through the 21 Days of Y’ello Care initiative will strengthen service delivery at Juba Teaching Hospital and contribute to better health outcomes for mothers, children, and the wider community.”

Dr. Lupai also commended MTN employees who volunteered their time and expertise throughout the campaign, helping to deliver sustainable solutions to healthcare challenges.

The initiative forms part of MTN’s annual “21 Days of Y’ello Care” programme, now in its nineteenth year across the company’s markets, reflecting the firm’s commitment to supporting national development through technology, innovation, and community partnerships.
