There were ten Sudanese nationals among the 43 people who died yesterday in a head-on bus crash near Nimule.
Denis Akena, who reports for Emmanuel Radio from Nimule, said one of the victims admitted to the hospital passed away increasing the number of the dead to 43.
He added that the dead were all men and there were ten Sudanese among them.
Medical workers at Nimule hospital were overwhelmed by the large number of injured and they were being helped by locals.
Hannington Kiwanuka, the chairperson of Uganda Bus Drivers Association, identified the dead drivers as Godfrey Mukiibi of Bakulu Coach and Nyanzi Joseph Kabanda of Baby Coach.
Samuel Okot, Ugandan North-western regional police commander, said most people who died in the accident were Ugandans and Kenyans.
He added that Uganda police personnel from Adjumani and Amuru districts were at the scene to help the victims.
He added that the Ugandan police would inform victims’ relatives.
