Central Equatoria Women Association expressed willingness and readiness to continue keeping Juba clean even after the independence of South Sudan.

Since the appointment of Mayor Mohamed Al-Haj Babala in April, women are heavily involved in the cleaning of Juba in a bid to get the town ready for Independence Day proclamation three weeks away, Bakhita Radio reported.

Kujang Abe, who chairs the Women Association, said her team is working hard to keep Juba clean in order for it to look like other cities in the world.

She urged residents to plant flowers to make the city more beautiful.

Ms. Kujang explained that the cleaning is sponsored by the Mayor of Juba City Council in coordination with GoSS ministry of health.

Every day dozens of women are seen working hard in the streets of Juba to give a social touch to the capital.

The cleaning campaign covers mainly Munuki, Juba and Kator payams, leaving aside the periphery of the city.
