TONJ POLICE BANS SHISHA SMOKING

The police in Tonj South County, Warrap state, has banned the practice of public shisha smoking and closed all shisha places after questioning owners.

Tonj South County chief inspector of the police Joseph Mayei said that youth and women gather at shisha places and do not work, Don Bosco FM reported.

He charged that smoking shisha encourages laziness.

Mr. Mayei said some youths are late for classes because they smoke shisha before going to school.

He added that some women who smoke shisha leave their houses empty during and go to the market looking for the tobacco.

He explained that shisha is harmful to their health and their family life.

Mr. Mayei said anyone found again opening a shisha place will be jailed and fined by the police.

He urged Tonj residents to forget about shisha since they do not know where the tobacco is grown and manufactured.
