The administration of Gidel Hospital, in Nuba Mountains, has appealed to the local community to contribute towards the assistance of patients.

Mother of Mercy Hospital is having difficulties to cope with the number of patients and wounded soldiers from clashes in Kauda and Heiban, Voice of Peace Radio reported.

Laboratory official Abwounja Ali Shamila called on the community to assist with groundnuts and all other food stuff to feed the patients especially soldiers who do not have their families nearby.

Mr. Ali said the community should have compassion of wounded soldiers because they were working for the common good.

He urged the community to bring water and food to help wash their clothes and to sit and comfort them.

Mr. Ali encouraged the community to donate blood since many wounded have suffered serious bleeding.

Mother of Mercy Hospital is run by the Catholic Diocese of El Obeid serving a vast area of South Kordofan.
