The president of the United States of America has called on the Sudanese leaders to stop immediately all conflicts in the region including in South Kordofan, start peace negotiations and allow humanitarian agents to move freely to assist war victims.

Barak Obama recorded a statement released yesterday evening speaking directly to leaders in north and south Sudan.

He appealed to Khartoum to stop immediately air strikes and other acts of war together with forced displacements in South Kordofan.

Mr. Obama urged leaders to settle the remaining issues from the Comprehensive Peace Agreement peacefully and allow aid workers to assist the people in need.

The US president promised to normalize relations with the Sudan if its leaders choose peace otherwise they will get more sanctions and isolation.

Mr. Obama said there is no military solution for the problems in the Sudan.

He added that the Sudanese people had sacrificed enough and it was time that its leaders showed courage and vision for peace.

Mr. Obama said that the independence of South Sudan opens a promise of greater peace and prosperity for both countries.
