The South Sudan Human Rights Commission is training officers in a two-day capacity building workshop in Juba.

The workshop brought together civil society representatives and states’ human rights officers.

South Sudan Human Rights Commission Chairperson, Lawrence Korbandy, told Bakhita Radio that the workshop aimed at training human rights officers to monitor and report cases across the ten states of South Sudan.

He said the trainees will repeat the workshop at their respective regions.

He added that the next workshop will be determined by the budget plan and areas to be prioritised.

Mr. Korbandy said it was a progressive training intended to improve local human rights monitoring.
