Expensive agricultural equipment is affecting food production in the Yei River County.
A member of Yei Farmers Association, Samuel Taban Kilongere, told Radio Easter this morning that the primary tools like hoes, racks and spades are expensive in the markets.He added that there are no trained workers to run the tractors in the county.
Mr. Kilongere said it was difficult to get spare parts when the tractors break down.
He added that the fuel crisis is another problem that is halting cultivation in Yei.
Mr. Kilongere pointed out that most of the farmers need training on land preparation, planting and tending the crops.
