SOUTH SUDAN LEGALISES EXAMINATION POLICY

The South Sudan Assembly passed the Examinations Councils’ Act as the country is set to start its own exams.

Until this year, the School Certificate final exams were prepared and marked by Khartoum.

GoSS Education Minister Milli Michael said that South Sudan will be able to examine students and inspect them by next year.

He added that the Examinations Act will enable South Sudan students to be accepted in the national and international universities.

The minister said his current policy is to support and encourage private education run by institutions and individuals regulated by the Education Act.

He added that there is no government that alone provides of education for its citizens.

Mr. Milli made this comment while addressing participants at the launch of an education reconstruction and development conference.
