Priest in the Catholic Diocese of Torit Fr. David Taban on Sunday advised parents to give good and proper guidelines to children for better a family and the society.

He asks parents to be exemplary and should portray good behaviour to their children especially showing more parental love to kids that can impress them to imitate.

The priest tells the believers not to practice adultery since it is a sinful act.

“When we bring up children in a proper manner, you see children move in a good way, parents must always give proper doctrines to the children. When we don’t portray them and you as a mother don’t show love to the father of these children then the children will realize that something is wrong in this family. Behave properly in front of your children so that children will become light. I want to be like mum, I want to be like dad. Those years those issues of adultery weren’t there, but nowadays you will find one brown, dark skin, and others. How different genes can come to a certain family? At the end of the day it will cause conflict in this family because they are from different backgrounds” Fr Taban explained.

The catholic prelate says all human beings have committed crimes, but should come freely to Christ who is the forgiving Saviour.

He says when Christians follow the commandments of God, they will dwell in their respective communities.

“We are all sinful human beings on earth; we have committed a lot of crimes. When we come openly to Christ, Christ is the forgiving Saviour; he has come to liberate us from our sinfulness. He has come to free us from slavery. That is why he said in John 10:10 that “I have come to the world so that it has light and happiness to the fool”. When we follow the laws of Christ then we become a light in our community, where we live”, the priest said.

The Catholic priest was preaching on Sunday at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Torit, Eastern Equatoria State.
