Members of Apostles of Jesus, an African religious missionary congregation, working in Sudan are gathering in Rumbek for their spiritual retreat and ongoing formation.
Fr. Sisto Ojja is the Superior of Sudan Region. He told Good News Radio that the participants concluded their retreat yesterday and today they learned about project proposal writing and financial reporting.Fr. Ojja urged the faithful to cooperate with the members of the Apostles of Jesus ministering in Sudan.
He appealed to the natives of Rumbek Diocese to discover the call of God to religious and priestly life, explaining that the Gospel can be preached better by the indigenous who know the language and cultural aspects of the people.
Bishop Caesar Mazzolari of Rumbek thanked the Apostles of Jesus for being the first congregation to answer his appeal for missionaries in 1994.
In Rumbek Diocese, the Apostles of Jesus serve in Warrap Mission and St. Josephine Bakhita Minor Seminary in Mapuordit.
The Apostles of Jesus also minister in Juba, Wau, Torit and El Obeid dioceses.
