A training targeting volunteers involved in the distribution of food and non-food items to the needy within the territory of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek is scheduled for next month.
The four-day training is organized by the Catholic Relief Service (CRS) in Rumbek.This was announced to the participants at the just concluded diocesan annual assembly by the Chairperson of the Diocesan Emergency Preparedness Committee, Peter Nato.
Mr. Nato told the Church personnel that CRS will be conducting the training in Rumbek from March 8 to 11, specifying that each mission sends one male and one female for the training.
He also recommended that the two selected candidates from each mission be able to understand and express themselves in English, adding that the candidates be screened.
Rumbek Central County in Lakes State has received more than two thousand returnees.
There are still some two hundred returnees at St. Comboni Primary School in Rumbek awaiting resettlement.
