A senior government official urged people in authority to stop the practice of land grabbing in Juba.
The head of South Sudan Land Commission, Robert Ladu Luki, told the press today that officials were occupying land that did not belong to them.Mr. Ladu urged his colleagues to stop grabbing land belonging to innocent civilians.
The Land Commission chairman said land grabbing had no tribe.
He added that the government has to address complaints from local people who cannot afford to buy plots of land in town.
Mr. Ladu announced the introduction of a computerized land registry to control land distribution and ownership.
The land chairman made these statements today at the Minister of Information’s Media Forum in Juba.
