A civil society umbrella group called upon the government of South Sudan to reconsider the composition of the recently formed Constitutional Review Committee.
The South Sudan Civil Society Referendum Taskforce called this morning a press conference to share its views on the referendum process and the way forward to South Sudan, Bakhita Radio reported.Isaac Kenyi, who chairs the taskforce, urged GoSS to reconsider the decree that appointed the committee to review the Interim Constitution to include civil society and opposition party members.
He added that building a nation needs the participation of everyone.
Mr. Kenyi urged the parties to the CPA and the mediation teams to provide regular updates on the progress made in post referendum negotiations.
He asked all political parties in South Sudan to engage with one another and with the civil society in a meaningful dialogue to facilitate the process of post referendum democratic transformation.
