Tonj south County citizens voted almost unanimously for separation.

Peter Mou Thuai, who heads the County referendum body, told Don Bosco FM that 99.8 percent voted for secession with nine voters choosing unity.

Mr. Mou thanked chiefs and elders who contributed with bulls and goats for the referendum staff and women for cooking for the officials.

The referendum chief in Tonj South County called for the celebration of separation to be done in the various referendum centres.

He explained that the old, blind and the disadvantaged could not go to towns to celebrate.
