A polling staff at the University of Juba centre threatened not to release the referendum result to the State High Committee if he and his colleagues are not paid.
Juba University Polling Centre A has a total of almost 3,000 registered voters, and more than 2800 cast their ballots.Duku Francis, who heads the centre; said today that he would publish the referendum result at the centre after they counted the ballots but he might not submit the original copy to the state committee unless they are paid for their work at the polling station.
Mr. Francis added that the poling officials did not get food, money or water.
Mr. Salah, the head of polling centre B at the Juba University, had a different position. He said he would handle his station’s results to the committee even if there is no money.
