The referendum polling staff will receive their long awaited salaries by Monday.
The assurance was given this afternoon by Simon Lumori, an official from the State Referendum High Committee.Mr. Lumori called upon the polling staff to be patient.
He added that the money was issued yesterday by the Referendum Bureau and would be paid by Monday because the banks were closed to cash the check.
Mr. Lumori said that the referendum is unique.
He urged all the staff not to compare it with the April’s elections which ended up in violence between pooling staff and the Elections Commission.
