A 39 years old man from Magwi County in Easter Equatoria has gone ten days without food because his wife left him.
Mr. Okot Paul, a resident of Ijula village in Magwi, went on hunger strike when his in-laws retained his wife identified as Agnes when she went to them after a domestic conflict, Emmanuel Radio reported.Mr. Okot maintained that he would not eat food prepared by another woman.
He is surviving on water until his wife returns to stay at their marital home.
Eyewitnesses said Agnes left Mr. Okot after enduring endless domestic abuse.
Agnes told neighbours that her husband was a good man when they married but later he turned to drinking and became a torturer at home.
She vowed she will return home only if her husband stops drinking.
