Upper Nile referendum authorities said the turn out for voter registration was high in the state with about 80 percent of eligible voters enrolling for the plebiscite.

James Daniel Chuang, the spokesperson of the Referendum State High Committee, told Voice of Love that almost 298 thousand people registered until December 7.

Mr. Chuang said that it was difficult to collect the information of the last day of the registration due to lack of network coverage.

He added that if all voters registered in the last day are added then the turn out will be 80 percent of the targeted 445 thousand qualified voters.

Mr. Chuang said that there were no irregularities during the registration and the process was smooth.

He told the voters to keep their cards and vote in the referendum centres where they registered during polling time.
