Malakal residents marched from Hai Malakia to Hai Jalaba towards Malakal stadium yesterday to rally for South Sudan independence.
The peaceful demonstration was organized by Southern Sudan Youth Forum for the Referendum in collaboration with Youth for Separation, Women League, SPLA Disabled, and school and university students, Voice of Love reported.The participants who called for independence and for an African nation waved flags with signs of Yes for separation and No for Unity.
Upper Nile state governor Simon Kun Puoch told the demonstrators that the choice for separation is the right one for the people of South Sudan.
Mr. Kun said that the unity has not been made attractive and the people of the south have to decide their future wisely.
