Listeners of Don Bosco Radio on Friday said drug abuse has affected thousands of children in South Sudan.

One of the callers Mama Siliana says most of the children are suffering from diseases because their mothers used to smoke or take alcohol during pregnancy.

She appeals to the pregnant women to stop drinking and smoking during pregnancy.

Another caller Albino Akol notes that some children have been forced to go to the street and engage in drug abuse due to lack of parental care.

Akol appeals to the government to set policy to guide parents to protect their children.

Don Bosco Radio could not get comments from the ministry of gender and social development.
