A Catholic Priest is urging all South Sudanese to learn from the good example of Saint Bakhita who forgave her enemies and served with humility.
Fr George Jangara says Saint Bakhita was sold into slavery, tortured and suffered but she forgave her enemies.
He was speaking to CRN during the annual inaugural lecture of Saint Josephine Bakhita at Catholic University of South Sudan.
Fr Jangara says Saint Bakhita could be a good example to everybody because she forgave her enemies after suffering for long.
Mawal Marko Gatkuoth, student of Catholic University says he has learnt a lot about Saint Bakhita.
He expresses willingness to also forgive those who wronged him.
Marko calls on every South Sudanese to live together as one people for peace to prevail.
Clement Keny Awet, another student also appeals to the public to imitate Saint Bakhita and accept one another despite challenges.
Jokudu Mary Wada is another student of Catholic University, she says the lecture about Saint Bakhita on how she was tortured and suffered as a slave, was so touching.
She calls on people to learn how to forgive one another like the Saint.
Saint Josephine Bakhita was born around 1869 in Darfur region of Sudan.
She was kidnapped, forced to walk barefooted for long distance to a slave market in El Obeid as a child and later was sold to slave trader.
Despite the terrible situation she went through, she was able to forgive her enemies.
