The government of Khartoum reacted angrily to the renewal of US economic sanctions against Sudan.

On Monday, the Obama administration renewed sanctions against Sudan for another year demanding that Khartoum sticks to the referendum timetable.

A senior member of NCP and advisor to the minister of information in the federal government, Dr. Rabie Abdulaati, accused the Obama administration of interfering with the internal affairs of Sudan, Sudan Radio Service reported.

Dr. Abdulaati said the renewal of US sanctions against Sudan described the American contradictions.

Sudan is under US economic sanctions since 1997 for allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
