The United Nations together with the United States aid agency handed over officially voter registration materials to the Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau today in Juba.
Susan Finn, USAID deputy head, said the registration materials handover meant that the US was committed for the referenda to be held on time.Ms Finn added that the registration books and voters cards were printed in South Africa and had some security features.
Referendum Bureau chairman Chan Reec Madut said the people of south Sudan were very grateful to the international partners for the support towards the referendum.
This is the second handover of referendum materials after office materials and other support stuff including generators were distributed.
The Khartoum government will receive its materials tomorrow.
