The youth is the most productive group affected by HIV and AIDS in southern Sudan, an official said.
Patrick Wambua, HIV and AIDS officer in Central Equatoria state, told a youth peer group training in Juba that young people aged between 15 and 19 were the biggest group affected by the pandemic across the region.Mr. Wambua stressed that the scourge is the worst threat to the development of southern Sudan.
He revealed that AIDS infections are increasing more among girls and adolescents than boys revealing that young people are sexually more active than before.
Mr. Wambua stressed the HIV and AIDS trend shows that young people tend to have unprotected sexual activities.
He advised everybody to be responsible for his or her own health.
Mr. Wambua concluded that worldwide people aged between 15 and 49 are the biggest group affect by HIV and AIDS.
