Raiders believed to belong to the Murle community abducted yesterday a child near Gumbo Catholic Church, in the outskirts of Juba across the river.
A local source told SCR News that the boy was kidnapped while staying with his mother who was tending her field.
In another development, elders from Mori village, near Gumbo, said their primary school was closed two weeks ago following another Murle attack that left a villager dead.
The children were taken to small islands in the White Nile for protection.
The elders met yesterday to write a letter to Central Equatoria governor asking for security in order to reopen the school.
