The youth of Lirya payam in South Bari vowed to vote for the secession of southern Sudan in the upcoming referendum schedule to take place early January next year.

Peter Dodos, Lirya Payam youth representative, told the participants at a reception to constitutional post holders that the youth in southern Sudan suffered under unity.

Mr. Dodos said the youth of Lirya payam wanted to vote for secession as an alternative for unproductive unity.

He explained that the youth in his payam could not retreat from their decision to vote for the independence of southern Sudan.

Mr. Dodos said with the meagre resources and ability they would push on their voices to achieve a better future.

The reception honoured Paterno Legge Omini, state minister for Local Government and Law Enforcement, and Gerald Lohom, Member for Parliament in Central Equatoria state.
