SOUTH SUDAN FORMS DRIVERS AND MECHANICS ASSOCIATION

South Sudan Association of Drivers and Mechanics (SSDMA) was officially formed today to promote indigenous professionals and get rid of foreigners operating in south Sudan.

SSDMA Chief Managing Director, Genario Kwarach, told the press that foreign drivers operating in public transportation are cheating south Sudanese out of their jobs.

Mr. Kwarach added that the association will ensure that indigenous drivers save south Sudan from the rampaging and careless driving of foreign operators.

SSDMA administrator James Manyok said the association will register all drivers and mechanics in the ten states of south Sudan adding that any driver or mechanic should be licensed by the association to operate in the region.

Mr. Manyok confirmed that at the moment the association is still too young to cater for local drivers’ rights and to address their interests adding that the main objective is too ensure that all indigenous drivers are employed.
