Lakes Sate Referendum chief warned against the use of statements that incite public disorder during the referendum campaign.
Dr. Mabor Makuei urged the participants in the Lakes State Commissioners Forum to carry out a responsible campaign, cautioning them against uttering statements that incited violence.Mr. Makuei said sources of information must be acknowledged in all publications, including the names of those sponsoring them.
Dr. Makuei advocated for freedom of expression, saying that authorities or individuals would not be allowed to obstruct the circulation of information.
However, he added that it was up to the Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau to determine and announce the manner of information dissemination.
