Central Equatoria ministry of health launched motorcycle Ambulances in Juba today to serve and safe pregnant women in labor times.

Speaking at the launch, the state Director General Alhag Peter said that trained motorbike personnel would start tomorrow with immediate effect to begin rescuing women in labor in the Payams

GoSS Director General for International Co-operation, Samson Baba explained that motorcycles are suitable since they are cheap, flexible and fit for the regions feeder roads.

Mr. Baba said it was a brilliant idea embraced in Central Equatoria, urging for the same initiative to be replicated in other states including river motors for states with rivers.

The five motorbikes were donated by UNICEF with the aim to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate.
