Employees are generally disgruntled by the implementation of downsizing the workforce and the down grading policy.
The delegation which comprised representatives of the Union from the ten states of Southern Sudan said their organization is concerned about the welfare and humane treatment of the employees.
It said that the government employees are claiming more than one hundred million Sudanese Pounds in arrears from the government in Southern Sudan.
They also expressed the need for careful process of the referendum in order to avoid the technical mistakes made during the elections.
Dr. Riak Machar Teny asked the delegation to play an active role in civic education on civil service regulations and standards for assessing qualification of potential employees prior to their full employment.
Dr. Machar explained that these criteria must be uniform through Southern Sudan.
He acknowledged that there could be mistakes made during the implementation of the policy of downsizing and eradication of ghost names in the states, adding that the government would look into the claims raised by the Union.
