The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS does not recognize newly created 28 states, says the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General.
The 28 states created by President Salva Kiir in October 2015 remains another issue of disagreement between the peace partners.
Ellen Margret Loej told a news conference on Wednesday that the transitional government should urgently resolve the issue of states in a peaceful manner, Radio Bakhita reports.
Loej calls on South Sudanese to reconcile and work for peace and development of the country.
The parties to August 2015 peace agreement in March 2016 agreed to a proposal from IGAD Council of Ministers to tackle the question of 28 states within 30 days from the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity.
