Security Council urges Transitional Government to end suffering in South Sudan

United Nations Security Council has called on South Sudan’s Transitional Government of National Unity to work together to bring an end to violence and suffering.
 
The Security Council stresses the urgent need to address worsening economic situation in South Sudan.
 
Extend your full cooperation and support to the Joint Monitoring Evaluation Commission, JMEC, AU and UNMISS for full implementation of the peace agreement, the Security Council advises the Transitional Government of National Unity.
 
The Security Council says active engagement on South Sudan by the region and international community to ensure peace; stability and prosperity are restored remains very necessary.
 
The Security Council also stresses the pressing need for accountability for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in South Sudan.
